Australia Day Ambassador 2014

26th January 2013

What did you do Australia Day this year?

I felt most excited and honored to have been selected as an Australia Day Ambassador! I travelled to Townsville to be a part of the festivities which will involved giving a speech, awarding citizens of the year awards and presenting our newest Australian citizens!

There were many activities, which all started with a  fun run early in the morning, a best dressed car competition, cricket matches, live music, BBQs, and a whole lot of swimming at Townsvilel City Council’s Riverway … a beautiful spot!

This yer there was also a new online Australia Day initiative called “Thank you Australia 2014” … and it’s an opportunity for all Australians to express & share their gratitude for the good fortune of being Australian. Everyone is invited to create their own unique ‘Thank you Australia’ message by combining portrait photos of themselves with their own words of gratitude, and the message will form part of an Australia-wide gallery.
